I have gathered a vast amount of experience owning and working with dogs over the years. My life revolves around looking after dogs and learning about their physiological and psychological needs. I am trained in Canine First Aid and CPR, and have completed a more focused course on paw and pad injuries, I have also volunteered exercising dogs for the charity QAWS in Doha, Qatar.
I am fully DBS-checked, something I have continued to do from my days as a secondary school teacher, and Wondering Walks is fully insured to cover dog walking and dog training. I also strongly believe in continued professional development to stay up to date with the latest research and training methods, in order to improve my knowledge and best practice.
While it is not necessary (yet) to have a formal qualification to be a dog trainer, I have chosen to start at Level 5 and this will also allow me to go on to qualify as an Animal Behaviourist in the future. I see my business as a family and when you choose to use Wondering Walks services, I do everything I can to make your dog's time with us fun, safe and make them feel like they have a second family.
I own four beautiful, working type Labrador Retrievers.
They come with me to work and help me to correctly socialise client dogs. I also use them as 'model dogs' to promote confidence & neutrality in the client dogs, when walking as a pack.
They are very good at their job and whilst I don't need them to work, they absolutely love their job!
